For this year’s Heritage Day charity build-off, we crafted a bespoke whiskey cabinet that marries traditional craftsmanship with a touch of modern elegance. Measuring 700mm high, 600mm wide, and 350mm deep, the cabinet is built from solid white oak, giving it a timeless and durable character.

We added a walnut border on the doors for a rich contrast, and used CNC machining to create a scalloped pattern on the doors. This detail adds a unique texture and warmth, making the piece not just functional but a real conversation starter.

For the finish, we chose Rubio Monocoat in a Vienna tone—think of it like a touch of European charm—to give the wood a beautiful, warm hue. We also included a dark grey toughened safety glass shelf to complete the interior, making it both practical and stylish for display.

In the spirit of Heritage Day, this piece reflects a blend of classic woodworking traditions and modern techniques, celebrating craftsmanship and the joy of creating something truly unique.
