A Preparatory cleaner to clean all types of wood

‘Success is often the result of good preparation.’ This is also the case when colouring and protecting wood. Rubio Monocoat WoodPrep is a preparatory cleaner that can be applied to all types of wood. The product removes sanding dust residue and minimises any sanding errors and scratches.

Tests show that wood that has been pre-treated with Rubio Monocoat WoodPrep also had a more intense colour afterwards. This is because the use of this preparatory cleaner ensures better pigment absorption.

After using Rubio Monocoat WoodPrep on naturally waxy and oil-rich wood types, the adhesion of the final finish also appears to be a lot better on these wood types.

Tannins in the wood are also reduced with Rubio Monocoat WoodPrep, thus reducing the risk of discolouration afterwards.
This preparatory cleaner is available in a 100 ml and 1 L bottle, or a 5 and 10 L jerrycan.  A sponge and microfiber cloth are all you need for application. Afterwards, the wood can be protected and coloured with one of the Rubio Monocoat finishing products that can be applied manually or industrially, depending on the project in question. A combination with an optional pre-colour is of course also possible.

The picture below clearly shows the effect of the use of Rubio Monocoat WoodPrep as pre-treatment. On the left part, the wood was prepared with Rubio Monocoat Cleaner before oiling. And the right side was first treated with Rubio Monocoat WoodPrep before being finished with Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C, colour Charcoal. The result is even more intense coloring of the wood.
